March 2........ The Clarkton
School of Discovery PTSA will be sponsoring a
Spaghetti Dinner and Showcase night, spotlighting
the CSD Jr. Beta Club. and their recent achievements
at the state convention. Plates are $7.00 and will
be available for pick-up beginning at 4:30. In house
dinner will begin at 5:45 with a performance
highlighting the club at 7:00. All proceeds will go
toward their trip to the National convention this

March 3.....The 3rd Annual
Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce Pancake
Fundraiser will be held at the Front Porch
Restaurant. All you can eat, Pancakes and Sausage.
Proceeds assist Chamber Events....
March 3.....A BBQ benefit is
planned for March 3rd beginning at 4 PM at the
Bladenboro Historical Building. BBQ plates
will be $6 each, a cake sale auction begins at 5:30
PM. The benefit is for 4 individuals who need
support..including Stephanie Burney, Wanda Smith,
Billy Ray Benson and Teresa Ransom. Everyone
is invited....
Mar 3.....The Annual West Bladen
Booster Club golf tournament is set for Saturday,
March 3 at Carolina Sands. Registration begins
at 10 am, and tee time is 11 am. It will be a
captains choice format. Call Greg Sykes at
910-879-8502 for details. Booster club members
will also be selling raffle tickets for a golf cart.
Tickets are $10 each, the drawing will be held March
3rd.
March 8....An Election Symposium
is planned for March 8, 2012 at 4 PM in the Bladen
County District Courtroom in Elizabethtown. The
Symposium is a joint effort on the part of DA Jon
David, Bladen County Board of Elections and the
State Board of Elections. Gary Bartlett, Executive
Director of the NC Board of Elections, will be
speaking on the voting process, including the
absentee voting process. Elected officials,
candidates and the general public are encouraged to
attend and participate as we approach the 2012

March 17-18.....The Cape Fear
Farm Heritage Association will hold its 4th Annual
Southern Farm Days on March 17th and 18th at the
Boys and Girls Home horse complex at Lake Waccamaw,
NC. Some events will include Civil and
Revolutionary War encampments, antique tractor pull
(Saturday), draft horse pull (Sunday), border collie
herding, Indian culture demonstrations, mule
plowing, and live entertainment. Gates open a
9am and close at 5pm each day. Proceeds will go to
benefit the Boys and Girls Home. For more

West Bladen Tennis Tournament Open, March 30th &
31st Play is open to anyone $20.00 per single's
entry and $15.00 per person for double's entry. All
proceeds to benefit the Lady Knights tennis team.

everyone to their first annual Easter Festival March
31st from 5pm until 8:30pm. The Easter Festival will
