Oct 24 & 25....White Lake Fright Night October 24th, 25th, 31st and Nov. 1st.  9pm until Midnight.  Ticket booth and entrance is at Camp Clearwater's maintenance gate on White Lake Drive.  This haunted event is possible due to the White Lake Volunteer Fire Department with all proceeds going to them.  It is hosted by Camp Clearwater.

  

Oct 24 & 25...Clarkton Dixie Youth invites you to their Haunted Trail..The dates are Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25 and again from Wednesday, October 29th thru Saturday, November 1st, all at the DYB complex on Perimeter Road from 7 p.m.until midnight each night.  Admission is $5.

       

Oct 25...United Daughters of the Confederacy--Daughters of the Gray, a holding a special meeting Saturday, October 25th at Clarkton Presbyterian Church, beginning at 2:30 p.m

      

Oct 24-26...White's Creek Baptist Church, located at 6062 Mercer Mill Road, Clarkton will be celebrating their 100th year Homecoming Anniversary!  Everyone is invited to attend services nightly.
Friday, October 24th....at Elizabethtown Middle School, Special music provided by Ivan Parker beginning at 7 p.m.

   

Oct 24...Bladen County Health Department will be having a “SHOO FLU DRIVE THRU” Friday, October 24th, 12:30 pm-3:30 pm, Bladen County Health Department, 300 Mercer Mill Road, Elizabethtown. “Shoo the Flu” away this season by bringing your Family and Friends to come out and get a Flu Shot!!!
 
Flu vaccines will be available for ages 6 months and up. The flu vaccines that are being offered at the health department and at our drive thru clinic are:
 
·         the Flu vaccine
·         the Flu Intradermal vaccine (90% shorter needle)
·         the High Dose Flu vaccine (is recommended for ages 65 and older)
 
The Health Dept. will bill your insurance for this service so have your insurance information available. If the vaccine is not covered by your insurance, the cost of the vaccine will range from $35.00-$55.00 which will be due at the time of registration.

Oct 25....Saturday, at White's Creek special music by the Lumber River Qt and C.J.Bordeaux will be guest speaker.
    

Oct. 25....The 8th Annual Beast of Bladenboro festival will be held Saturday, October 25. Vendors, rides, games, bounce houses, horse and wagon rides, camel and pony rides.  Southeastern cruisers car show returns and Lizard Lick towing will be visiting.  Food galore...hotdogs, funnel cakes, collard sandwiches, BBQ and more.  Music throughout the day featuring local talent and the special guest will be the Fantastic Shakers from 7 to 9:30 p.m  The Festival will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m and everyone is invited to downtown Bladenboro.  For more info call 910-840-1603. 

  

Oct 26....Sunday, Services begin at 10:30 a.m...Special music by Brian Free & Assurance.  Steven Harrelson will be the guest speaker and dinner will follow the service....YOU ARE INVITED TO ALL SERVICES.

  

Oct. 27....The Bladen Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors will meet Monday, October 27 at 8 a.m. in the small auditorium at the Powell-Melvin Agriculture Center, Elizabethtown, NC.  For more information call 910-862-3179, Opt. 3.

Nov. 1....The Dublin volunteer fire department will be hosting a BBQ plate sale on November 1st at the Dublin fire department.  The plate sale begins at 11 a.m.  You have a choice....BBQ pork or chicken.  Combination plates will be available..Side items include baked beans and slaw...Eat in or take out...Come and enjoy.  Everyone invited...

Nov 2.......HOMECOMING service will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Sunday, November 2 beginning at 1045 am.  Rev. Nov 5-6....Northside Baptist Church in Bladenboro is sponsoring a Youth Tent Revival on November 5 & 6.  On Wednesday, special music will be provided by The Vertical Bandbeginning at 6 p.m. Message & music by Zack Canady and Sonburst of Holden Beach at 7 p.m. Thursday, music by local youth groups and The Green Sea Floyds Trojan Singers and the 7 p.m. message will feature Rev. Jonathan Falwell, Pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Va featuring music by Gina Grainger.  Supper each evening beginning at 5 p.m. and everyone is invited to attend.

 

Nov 8....The annual reunion of the Monroe and Edith Martilla Hester Family will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church Family Life Center, 6414 Center Road, Bladenboro.  The goal is to have representatives from each of the 8 children at this union.  Bring a covered dish (or dishes) and be prepared to eat by 1 p.m. and help spread the word to all members of the family.

     

Nov. 8...Good News Baptist Church, located at the intersection of 211 bypass and Center Road in Bladenboro will have a yard sale, Saturday, November 8 beginning at 7:30 a.m. and everyone is welcome.

           

Nov 9-12...You are invited to attend a revival at Lisbon Baptist Church with Evangelist Andrew Green from November 9 thru 12 at 7 p.m. nightly.  Various singers will be providing the music nightly.  Evangelist Green is from Nashville, TN and has been ministering since 2005.  To learn more about him visit Facebook page..Highway and Hedges Ministries.  All are invited to attend the revival.

   

Nov. 15....Low-income families who want to get their pets spayed or neutered at A Shelter Friend's monthly low-income clinic can call 645-2297 for information and sign up.  Volunteers who wish to help with this worthwhile program are also encouraged to call.

   

Nov. 16....The Rays of Hope Choir of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, will be celebrating their anniversary on Sunday, November 16 at 4:00 pm.  Please come out and help us worship the Lord through music.  For more information please contact April Corbett at 910-840-0362.

      

Nov. 22.....A Joey Merritt benefit bike ride is planned for Saturday, November 22 at the Hickory Grove Fire Department.  BBQ plates/Chili are on sale for $7 each.  A bake sale, 50/50 raffle, crafts, bounce house and more.  Registration for the bike ride will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., kick stands up at 11 a.m.  The cost is $20 for singles, $25 for doubles and the plate lunch and door prizes are included..Hickory Grove Fire Dept. is located at the intersection of NC 210 and US 701 just south of Garland.  For more info call Lori at (910) 850-3476.

Civic

Bladen County Shrine Club meets at the Woodman of the World building on Highway 242 just north of Elizabethtown on the first Thursday of the month. All members are encouraged to attend, including anyone interested in joining.

 

Bladen Lodge 646 (AF & AM) meets at 106 South Cypress Street in Elizabethtown on the 2nd Monday and 4th Monday night of the month. The meeting on the 2nd Monday starts at 6:30pm with dinner served. The meeting on the 4th Monday starts at 7:30pm.

 

Bladenboro Rotary Club meets at the Bladenboro Community Building every Monday at 6:30pm.

 

Col. Earl E. Frink Bladen County Military Museum meets at the Bladenboro Historical Society Building at 7pm the last Tuesday of the month. For more information, contact Robert C. Hester at 910-862-8620.

The Bladenboro Housing Authority meets at 6pm in the Housing Authority Administration Office in Bladenboro on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

 

Bladenboro Town Board meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 PM at Town Hall located at 411 Ivey Street.

 

Woodmen of the World Lodge 208 of Bladenboro meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 for dinner and a business meeting.  The lodge is located on Hwy 131 South of Bladenboro.


Clarkton

Town Board meets at 7pm at the Town Hall on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

  

The Clarkton Housing Authority meets at 6pm in the Oakdale Homes Community Building in Clarkton on the third Tuesday of each month.

Elizabethtown

ABC Board meets at 5:30pm at the ABC Store on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

  

Airport Economic Development Commission meets at 7:30pm at the Airport Terminal Building on the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

 

Alcoholics Anonymous Meetings are held three times weekly. Tuesday and Friday meetings are held at Open Door Ministries (2704 East Broad Street/NC 87 E. Elizabethtown) 7:30 p.m. The meetings are Open Meetings.  Meetings are also held on Thursday evenings at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church (800 West Broad Street, Elizabethtown) beginning at 7:30 p.m.  The meetings are Open Meeting and Step Study.  For more information call Houston at 910-876-1087.
