This month’s County Commissioner’s meeting was full of achievement recognition and establishing new leaders. At the beginning of the meeting, several employees were recognized for their years of service.
Amy Burney, Martha Howell, Donna Taylor, Wanda Wilson and Carol Strickland were recognized for their time of service, which ranged from 5 to 30 years.
The new General Services Manager, Kip McClary, was introduced in the meeting. McClary said, “I will do my best to lead and serve with dignity and integrity as best I can.
McClary has previously worked in the town of Whiteville, Columbus County and the town of Proctor.
For the Advisory Board, Tommy Thompson was approved to be on the board for the Child Fatality/Protection Team.
Other agenda items from the Water District, Revenue Department, Finance Department, Health and Human Services Agency, Emergency Services and the County Manager were all heard.
