As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, road maintenance / construction activities will cease other than the US 701 / NC 87 project.  As a result, there are no road closures or additional lane closures planned until Monday of next week.  The Elwell Ferry does remain closed due to extremely high water.  A list of upcoming closings for next week are as follows: SR 1710 (Elkton Road)

Beginning Monday morning (11/30/15), we plan to close SR 1710 (Elkton Road) at a location 0.1 miles north of SR 1760 (Burney Road) in order to replace a crossline.  The road will be closed until Wednesday.  Use SR 1760 (Burney Ford Road) and SR 1761 (Martin Gourd Road) for access around the work area.

 NC 87 in Dublin

Southbound NC 87 in Dublin will be confined to 1 lane beginning Monday morning.  The lane reduction will run continuous through the day and overnight so that repairs can be made to a leaking manhole under the road.  The work should be completed late Tuesday or early Wednesday.  This should not cause too much trouble for normal traffic; however, any oversized loads are asked to detour around the work area using NC 410 and NC 41 due to narrowed lane widths.
