BoardofElectionsThe Bladen County Board of Elections met on Tuesday afternoon and reviewed the absentee ballots that had been returned for the June 7 primary election.

Board of Elections Director Cynthia Shaw told the members present that approximately 803 mail absentee ballots were sent out and thus far 111 had been returned as of Tuesday afternoon. The board reviewed the ballots and approved 110 ballots and one ballot was found to be incomplete. Shaw told the board that her staff will attempt to contact the voter to have them come in and complete the ballot.

Shaw also reminded the board there is a conference scheduled for June 8 and 9 in Charlotte for Board of Elections members and directors.

She also told the board that One Stop training was scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, to help the poll workers to become familiar with the software.

There will only be on One Stop voting site at the Bladen County Public Library located on Cypress Street in Elizabethtown. Shaw said there will be four poll workers assigned to that site—a chief judge, two judges and one person for the help desk.
