At the February 8 Board of Education monthly meeting, board members approved the recommendation by the superintendent to hire Stephanie Norris as the principal of Clarkton School of Discovery. Current Clarkton principal Stephanie Ensminger will retire effective March 1, 2016.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Stephanie Norris has worked in the Bladen County School system for seventeen years. In the spring of 2013, Norris was selected as a member of the prestigious Sandhills Leadership Academy where she obtained Principal’s licensure with Master’s work through the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Norris moves to Clarkton School of Discovery from Bladenboro Primary School where she has served as Assistant Principal for the past two years.
Before her duties as assistant principal, Norris was the technology lab facilitator and taught grades 6-8 science at Clarkton School of Discovery.
Stephanie Norris and her husband Eddie, who reside in Bladenboro, have been married for 20 years. They have two children, Abby, a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Nick, a 7th grade student.
