Town Of ElizabethtownElizabethtown Commissioners meet Monday for their regular monthly meeting.
The board meets at noontime for a workshop and to review the agenda for the evening meeting.
A couple of resolutions related to the retirement of long-time Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw will be considered.  One resolution is to declare his service weapon and badge as surplus property and another resolution will be to present both to him in a formal presentation.  Kinlaw has spent his 30 plus year career as an Elizabethtown Police Officer, including Chief for many years.
Board members are expected to approve an application to the NC Department of Commerce-Utility Account for the Elizabethtown Airport Taxiway Access Project.
Commissioners are expected to approve a Resolution in memory and honor of J.C. Batchelor, Jr. for his many years of service on the Elizabethtown Planning Board and Board of Adjustment.  Mr. Batchelor recently died.
The board will consider filling the vacant position on the Planning Board.
There will be a presentation from ALTA Planning and Design for the drafted bicycle plan.
Several other issues will be considered, followed by a Closed Session to discuss Real Estate-Elizabethtown Industrial Park.
A reception will be held following a 6 p.m. meeting of the Planning Board to honor retiring Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw.
The meetings are open to the public.  The regular business session of the Board begins at 7 p.m.
