BCCADDUBLIN – Bladen Community College will host a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshop for high school and college students on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 9 a.m. until noon, in the Learning Enhancement Center (building 8).

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a program which automatically qualifies students for a variety of federal and state grants, and work study programs. Financial assistance through a federal or state grant does not have to be repaid. Assistance provided with a work-study program allows students to be employed on campus to help with the expenses.

Billions of dollars in financial aid are available to help college-bound students who are in financial need. But to be considered, you must apply.

At the workshop, high school seniors must be accompanied by a parent. FAFSA requires financial documentation from the household which can be the 2015 tax return or W-2 forms.

Samantha Benson, Director of Financial Aid, will make this daunting task a little easier by leading the workshop, answering questions and assisting parents and students in the online process of applying.

More information is available at the www.CFNC.org website, which features other scholarships, grants, plus extensive information about the cost of college.
