Jones Lake Fall Festival

Fall is in the air and with it comes festivals! This year “The Friends of the Bay Lakes” and the staff at Jones Lake have organized a Fall Festival at Jones Lake on Saturday, October 31st, from 10 am until 2 pm.

Everyone is invited to attend the celebration planned full of games, hay rides, educational opportunities and more! To pre-register, call  (910) 588-4550.

“The Friends of the Bay Lakes” is a non-profit 501(c)3 group that supports both Jones and Singletary Lake State Parks. The committed friends have helped organize the Easter Event at Jones Lake since 2011 with great success. Now, they have expanded their efforts with the Fall Festival for another opportunity for the public to enjoy the local state park and to assist in fund raising efforts.

Shane Freeman, Park Superintendent at Jones Lake said, “There has never been a charge for anything at any of the past Easter Events, however we are planning to charge some small amounts for this event. All of the money made from this event will go to the Friends of the Bay Lakes to be used for future community events at the park.”

The festivities will include carnival games, hay rides, ranger lead hikes, costume contests, cake walks, fire trucks, a straw painting craft station and an animal display. The Wildlife Resources Commission and Turnbull Creek Educational State Forest will be providing some activities. There will also be some special friends on site like Smokey the Bear and Les Litter from Keep Bladen Beautiful.
