CromartieUS Marshals apprehended a man on Wednesday afternoon in Cumberland County that is wanted by the Elizabethtown Police Department for attempted murder charges following a gang-related shooting in January.

Meredith Jaquan Cromartie was arrested at a convenience store in Fayetteville on Wednesday afternoon, according to the US Marshals office. He was wanted on five charges of attempted murder for the gang-related shooting that ocurred on January 19 in Elizabethtown.

The shooting took place in Elizabethtown at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Gill Street and Martin Luther King Drive when Cromartie, a known gang member, fire a handgun at Jeffrey Lewis, a rival gang member, according to reports.

According to reports, the shots struck a vehicle that was occupied by four persons, one of whom was an infant. No injuries were reported.

Following the incident a search warrant was executed at Cromartie’s home on Fox Street, where officers seized marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. An unnamed person was arrested and Cromartie was not at the home at the time the search warrant was executed, according to reports.
