MattoSoutheastern Health President/CEO Joann Anderson announced the appointment of Patricia L. Matto, D.O., as vice president of medical education for the health system. She will also serve as director of student medical education for SeHealth as well as regional dean for Campbell University’s Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Matto earned a medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa. She completed a family medicine residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio, in 2003. She completed fellowships in academic medicine-teaching track with a focus on curriculum development in 2008 and in academic medicine-research track in 2012, both from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio. She is certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Before joining SeHealth, she worked as the director of both medical education and student medical education for Danville Regional Medical Center in Danville, Va. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

“It is an honor to be affiliated with this new program and I look forward to working with the health system, Campbell University and the community as the program continues to grow to become what I envision to be one of the most sought after medical education programs in the country,” said Dr. Matto, a native of Bradford, Pa., who lives in Fayetteville with her husband and two children.
