DCS Motors Supports School EOP's

Valerie Newton

Elizabeththown, NC - For the past two years DCS Motors has supported the Bladen County Educational Office Professional's (EOP) with their fundraising efforts.  The Melvin family, father Donnel and sons Corey and Sheldon, recently donated the use of their large cooker grill and gas tank for the EOP Potato Bar fundraiser.

The EOP organization sold baked potatoes with all the fixings throughout the school district for $5.00 each with the money going into the state conference fund. This is the first year the organization has held a Potato Bar fundraiser to support State Conference expenses.

The EOP conducts fundraisers like the potato bar, raffle ticket sales, basket raffle, and many others throughout the year to help the schools purchase classroom supplies and to fund the Student Scholarship Fund. The group awards each year a high school senior at each high school a $500 financial scholarship for post-secondary education.

Students interested in the EOP Scholarship award can submit an application to the local EOP organization by May 15, 2012.  Selected winners will be notified in June during their high school awards program.   Applications can be picked up at the Bladen County Board of Education office from an EOP Scholarship Committee member.
