Found a category:  People from Bladen County, North Carolina..and I share...
B...Curtis Brown...selected as an astronaut candidate by NASA in June 1987.  Goes on to list a long list of accomplishments.  He retired as a USAF Colonel after six space trips and a total of 1,383 hours in space. 
B...Desmond Bryant...NFL football defensive end for the Cleveland Browns.  A 2004 graduate of East Bladen High school.  With a weighted 4.2 grade point average and 1230 SAT score.  He graduated with from Harvard with a degree in economics.
G...James C. Green...North Carolina politician who served as Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives and as the 28th Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina.  He died in 2000.
J...Thomas Laurens Jones...Born in White Oak, North Carolina, attended private schools.  Graduated from Princeton College and from the law department of Harvard University.  Moved to Kentucky and served in Congress from March 4, 1867 to March 3, 1871.  He served as chairman of the Committee on Railways and Canals in the forty-fourth Congress...
M...Jerry Martin....Tenor vocalist for the Kingdom Heirs and performs at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.  He grew up on Bladenboro, North Carolina.  Traveled with the Kingsmen and Dove Brothers Quartet.  Has had 6 #1 songs on the gospel charts including 'I Can Pray.'
O...Guy Owen....He was born in Clarkton, North Carolina and grew up on a tobacco farm.  Earned a doctoral degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He spent time accompanying his grandfather to auctions and clerking at his father's store, informed his writing, providing him with a lifetime of material for his fiction and poetry.  Long distinguished career..his book The Flim-Flam Man was made into a movie.  He died of liver cancer at the age of 56.
O...John Owen....24th Governor of the State of North Carolina from 1828 to 1830.  He was a prominent member of the North Carolina Constitutional Convention.    He presided over the first state convention of the emerging Whig party, was offered the vice-presidential position on the Whig presidential ticket of William Henry Harrison; he turn down the nomination.  Had he accepted, Owen might have become President of the United States following Harrison's death early in office instead of John Tyler.
R...Kevin Richardson...born in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.  He is a former starting running back for the Appalachian State Mountaineers for the 2005-2007.  He holds numerous ASU rushing records.  He rushed for 88 yards in the Mountaineers' 34-32 upset victory over the then #5 Michigan Wolverines.
