Thoughts while shaving
Interesting week ahead.
An all out effort is underway to
save the Fitness Center in Elizabethtown. Cape
Fear Valley
Hospital System has announced they are closing the
Center.
Bladen County Commissioners are
scheduled to hear from the supporters at their
Monday
evening meeting.
Golden Leaf officials will be
back in Bladen Tuesday night as they help local
residents work
through a process of where to invest up to $2
million in the county. It is getting done to
"crunch time." Hope good choices are made,
would be a shame to "botch" this opportunity.
Two important dates upcoming.
April 15, need I say more and May 4, election day.
Bladen County Commissioners may
soon be "under the gun" to name a new commissioner.
Gotta go through the process
again, Democratic party meeting, select a candidate,
recommend to Commissioners,
Commissioners make an official selection and get
he/she
sworn in before deadline arrives.
On the national scene, I am glad
it is not my job to garner enough votes to pass
healthcare in the US House. The anti's are
very vocal, the supporters are checking the polls.
Not sure how important healthcare is at that level,
think the November elections are more important for
both parties.
A salute to Coach Pam Evers and
the Lady Eagles. Sure, everyone wanted a state
championship, but it was not to
be. 29-1, what a record.
