Mar 17......Wednesday Night Revival Services continue at Wesleys 's Chapel UMC.  The speaker this week will be Rev. Neill Smith of Fair Bluff.  Everyone is invited, services begin at 7 PM.  Wesley's Chapel is located at 2409 Peanut Plant Road, Elizabethtown, NC.

  

Mar 17 - 21.... Baldwin Branch Missionary Church is planning an anniversary celebration honoring Pastor David C. Camp on his 5th anniversary.  The celebrations begin on March 17 and continue March 18, a banquet is planned for Saturday March 20 and concludes with a special Sunday service on March 21.  For more information call Arthur Bullock, chairman of the event at 645-4995.

 

Mar 19....Dublin Lions Club Annual Barbeque and Auction. Friday, Mar 19, plates $6.00. Barbeque plate sale 11am - 7pm. Auction begins at 6pm.

  

 Mar 19....Bladen County GOP Convention will be held March 19 in room 212 of the Bladen County Courthouse.  The program begins at 7 PM and is expected to conclude by 9 PM.  All GOP candidates are invited.

 

Mar 20.........Bladenboro High School will be the site of an Alumni Basketball game Saturday, March 20.  The proceeds from the game will go to the Bladenboro Middle School Jr. Beta Club to assist with their trip to the National Conference in Kentucky.  The game begins at 6:30 PM at the BBMS gym.  Admission is just $5 and everyone is invited. A concession stand will be open.

  

Mar 20....VFW Post 8062, Raymond W. Biglow Post, Elizabethtown, NC Post Meeting on Saturday, March 20 at 3 PM at the Post headquarters 108 Hill Street. All members and guest are welcome.  Combat veterans looking for a Home Post are encouraged to attend.

  

Mar 20.....Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast Saturday, March 20 from 8 AM until 10:30 AM at the Front Porch Restaurant.  Support the Chamber and spend some time with other members.  Support the Chamber of Commerce. Purchase your ticket at the Chamber office for just  $5.

  

Mar 20.....Champion for a Cause presents Professional Wrestling at Elizabethtown Middle School March 20. Operation Save Foundation will crown a new Heavyweight Champ. Wrestlers from the Mid-Atlantic will be on the card that promises to provide fun for all. Your favorite wrestlers like Damien Wayne, Charlie Dreamer, KC McKnight, Kimo, Austin "Consequences" Creed and many more. Female wrestlers will also be on the agenda. The doors open at 4 PM and bell time is 5 PM. VIP Tickets are just $10 each and General Admission $5. Proceeds from this event will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

 

Mar 20 - 21....Southern Farm Days are scheduled for Boys and Girls Home Horse Complex at Lake Waccamaw.  Antique farm equipment/tractors, horse and mule at work, Tractor Pull, Blacksmithing, Civil War Encampment, Indian Encampment, Cross Cut Sawing, open fire cooking, bluegrass music and much more.  Admission just $7.50 for adults and children under 12 admitted free.  For more information, call C.J. Mar 21 – 24….Galeed Baptist Church will be conducting revival services beginning on Sunday evening, March 21st and continuing through Wednesday, March 24th. The Sunday evening service will begin at 6 PM. The Monday through Wednesday evening services will begin at 7 PM.  Dr. Jeff Isenhour, Pastor of the Arran Lake Baptist Church of Fayetteville will be the guest preacher. A program of special music is planned for each service. Everyone is invited to attend. The church nursery will be open for children during the revival services. Mar 23.....The Bladen Community College Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, March 23, at 6 PM in the Essic Williams Administration Building Conference Room.

 

Mar 24.....Bladenboro High School class of 1979 will hold a class reunion at San Jose Restaurant in Elizabethtown beginning at 6:30 PM on March 24.

 

Mar 25......Bladen County Health Department continues to sponsor group meetings for Diabetes Educational Support. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, from 5:30 PM until 6:30.  The guest speaker will be Sandra Cain-Cooperative Extension Family Consumer Sciences Agent. Mar 26.....There will be a Jews For Jesus presentation at Tar Heel Baptist Church, Friday,  March 26th at 6:00. The presentation will be on Christ in the Passover  and a missionary from Jews for Jesus will conduct the service. Christ in the Passover shows the link between the ancient Festival of Redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God! Please remember this date and plan on attending!

 

Mar 26...You are invited to join the Clarkton Relay for Life Team for a Spaghetti Supper, March 26, from 5 PM til 8 PM, at the Clarkton First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.  You may eat in or take out.  The menu consists of spaghetti, salad, and a dessert.  Your contributions for Relay for Life are welcomed.

 

Mar 27.....Shady Grove Baptist Church is sponsoring their second Annual Community 'BONFIRE' Saturday, March 27 beginning at 6 PM and all youth are invited.  Music by Joey Autry and Revision One Band.  Enjoy an old fashion weiner roast with smores and more.  Enjoy games and hay rides. Everyone is invited, young and old alike...come and enjoy the food and Christian fellowship.

  

Mar 27.....The 4th Annual Politician Appreciation Day will be held Saturday, March 27 beginning at 5:30 PM.  Fellowship, Dinner and Entertainment.  This year's event will be held at Lu-Mil Vineyard, 474 Suggs Taylor Road near Dublin..  For more information contact Tim Benton at 910-874-0229 or email ctbenton20@yahoo.com.  Donations will be accepted.

  

Mar 30.......Grace Baptist Youth are taking orders for Grilled Boston Butts to be picked up on Friday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Cost is $ 20.00 each, 2 or more $ 17.50 each.  Cakes will also be available for purchase. Mar 30.... There will be a Beef Marketing Meeting on Tuesday, March 30^th at 7 pm at the Bladen County Extension Office located at 455 Smith Circle Dr in Elizabethtown. The meeting will be a combination of speakers and webcast. Speakers will discuss graded state sales, preconditioning, and truckload lots. There will also be a panel discussion about marketing options. This meeting is geared towards farms of all sizes and possible marketing arrangements that any producer can join. Topics and speakers include: Graded and Preconditioned Sales by /Bruce Shankle, NCDA Livestock Marketing; /Truckload Lots and Alliances by /Allen Malero, Anson County Producer; /Marketing Plans, “Value-added” and Importance of Small Producer Alliances by /Steve Grady & Brandon Cox, Coastal Carolina Cattle Alliance; and/ Truckload Lots by /Don Wellons, Harnett County Producer. /For more information or to register, call the Bladen County Extension Office at 910-862-4591.

 

Mar 30....There will be a Forestry meeting on Tuesday, March 30^th  at 9 am at the Bladen County Extension Office located at 455 Smith Circle Drive in Elizabethtown.
