Mar 11........ Democrat Precinct Meeting for Elizabethtown Precinct 2 will be held Thursday March 11 at 6pm. Elizabethtown Precinct 1 will follow at 7pm. Both meetings will be held in the basement of the courthouse near the commissioners room.

 
Mar 12....Bethel Democratic Precinct meeting will be held, Friday, March 12 at the Dublin Lions Club building. The meeting begins at 7 PM and all Democrats are invited.

  

Mar 12....Elizabethtown Church of God will be selling spaghetti plates Friday, March 12 from 11 AM until 7 PM.  Plates are $6 donation.  The church is located on Hwy 242 N.

 

Mar 12...Man Up! - a men's bible study meets at 6:00 am each Friday morning at the Bladenboro Community Building, 109 East Oak St. Bladenboro.  For more information, please call Danny McLamb at  863-0121.

  

Mar 12.......We will have an American Red Cross blood drive on Fri March 12 at Trinity United Methodist Church from 2-6:30pm.  This drive is sponsored by the Bladen Lodge No 646.  If you’d like to donate blood, please call Al at 910-876-0091. Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be generally good health.  Donors younger than 18 must also meet a height requirement.  Please bring a photo id.  For more info, please visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 800 RED CROSS.

 

Mar 12....Friday, March 12 at 6:00 pm , Shining Light Ministries, 113 WS Railroad Street, Clarkton is sponsoring a FUNDRAISER MEAL & BAKE SALE. The menu consist of,  Country-Style Steak w/Gravy, Rice, Green Beans, Corn, Roll, Dessert, Beverage. Eat-In or Take-Out.  $ 8.00 Donation.  For special deliveries or more information, Call: 910-647-0039. Money collected will be used for outreach ministry and Christian-themed community events.

 

Mar 13.....A fund raiser for the Bladen County Heat, a 14 Under girls softball team is set for Saturday, March 13 at the Bladenboro Fire Department from 11 AM until 2 PM. A donation of $5 per plate is requested.  You are invited to show your support for the defending State Champions.

  

Mar 13........Grace Baptist WMU will have a spaghetti plate sale on March 13, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Plates are $ 5.00 for adults  and $ 3.00 for children.  Eat in or take out.  All proceeds go to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.

  

Mar 13....Round Branch Baptist Church in Bladenboro is sponsoring the Annual Health Fair, Saturday, March 13 from 10 AM until 2 PM. This years theme is "Spring into Good Health."  Several Bladen County agencies will be on hand for question/concerns.  They include Bladen County Social Services, Bladen County Health Department, Healthy Bladen, Bladen Family Support Initiative, Bladen Parrish Nurse and Lower Cape Fear Hospice. Jeanene Todd-Green, Bladen County EMS Director and Bradley Kinlaw, Bladen County Fire Marshall/Emergency Management Director, will make a guest appearance. Round Branch Baptist Church is located in Bladenboro on the corner of Center Road and Zion Hill Church Road.  It's all free and open to the public.  Rev. Victor Singletary is the pastor. Mar 13.....Registration for Bladenboro T-Ball is scheduled Saturday, March 13 from 12 noon until 2 PM.  The registration is for ages 4 - 7 and the registration fee is $30 and please bring cash.  Coaches are also needed.  If interested, call Melissa Lewis @ 910-840-2839.

 

Mar 14.....Tar Heel Baptist Church will be holding revival beginning with worship service Sunday morning March 14th at 10:00AM.  Service will continue Sunday night at 7:00PM with a time of fellowship afterwards and will continue each night through Wednesday with services beginning each night at 7:00PM. Evangelist Jon Reed from the Atlanta area will be our guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

Mar 15....The Brown Marsh Precinct will have a meeting on Monday, March 15, 6:30 PM at the Clarkton Town Hall Depot.  All members are ask to attend.  Bladen County Democratic Chairman, Charles Corbett will be in attendance.  Louella P. Thompson is Chairperson and Johnnie Martin is Vice Chair.

  

Mar 16....Shining Light Ministries located at 113 WS Railroad Street in Clarkton will begin having a Tuesday evening Worship Service/Bible Study at 7:00 pm. We will begin with a Bible Study on the Book of Philippians. Everyone is invited to come, and to come as you are. Mar 17 - 21.... Baldwin Branch Missionary Church is planning an anniversary celebration honoring Pastor David C. Camp on his 5th anniversary.  The celebrations begin on March 17 and continue March 18, a banquet is planned for Saturday March 20 and concludes with a special Sunday service on March 21.  For more information call Arthur Bullock, chairman of the event at 645-4995.

  

 Mar 19....Bladen County GOP Convention will be held March 19 in room 212 of the Bladen County Courthouse.  The program begins at 7 PM and is expected to conclude by 9 PM.  All GOP candidates are invited.

 

Mar 20.....Champion for a Cause presents Professional Wrestling at Elizabethtown Middle School March 20. Operation Save Foundation will crown a new Heavyweight Champ. Wrestlers from the Mid-Atlantic will be on the card that promises to provide fun for all. Your favorite wrestlers like Damien Wayne, Charlie Dreamer, KC McKnight, Kimo, Austin "Consequences" Creed and many more. Female wrestlers will also be on the agenda. The doors open at 4 PM and bell time is 5 PM. VIP Tickets are just $10 each and General Admission $5. Proceeds from this event will go to the Children's Miracle Network.

 

Mar 20 - 21....Southern Farm Days are scheduled for Boys and Girls Home Horse Complex at Lake Waccamaw.  Antique farm equipment/tractors, horse and mule at work, Tractor Pull, Blacksmithing, Civil War Encampment, Indian Encampment, Cross Cut Sawing, open fire cooking, bluegrass music and much more.  Admission just $7.50 for adults and children under 12 admitted free.  For more information, call C.J. Mar 24.....Bladenboro High School class of 1979 will hold a class reunion at San Jose Restaurant in Elizabethtown beginning at 6:30 PM on March 24.

 

Mar 25......Bladen County Health Department continues to sponsor group meetings for Diabetes Educational Support. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, from 5:30 PM until 6:30.  The guest speaker will be Sandra Cain-Cooperative Extension Family Consumer Sciences Agent. Mar 26...You are invited to join the Clarkton Relay for Life Team for a Spaghetti Supper, March 26, from 5 PM til 8 PM, at the Clarkton First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.  You may eat in or take out.  The menu consists of spaghetti, salad, and a dessert.  Your contributions for Relay for Life are welcomed.

Mar 30.......Grace Baptist Youth are taking orders for Grilled Boston Butts to be picked up on Friday, April 2nd from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Cost is $ 20.00 each, 2 or more $ 17.50 each.  Cakes will also be available for purchase.
