Three Things to KnowGood morning! 3 things to know for Friday, October 9

1. It’s Football Friday and Bladen Online will have it covered with reporters at East Bladen to cover the Eagles’ homecoming game against Pender, and at West Bladen for the Knights’ contest against Trask. Kickoffs are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. We’ll have live tweets from each game @BladenOnline to keep you updated. Also, the Bladen Sports Network will broadcast the East Bladen game on WODR 105.3 FM or online at coolbeach1053.com.

2. This just in from Captain Obvious, North Carolina is no longer experiencing drought conditions. That’s the word from the U.S. Drought Monitor, which releases its drought map every Thursday. With the rains of the past two weeks, it’s not hard to believe.

3. University of Connecticut student Luke Gatti, 19, faces criminal charges after a profanity-laced confrontation with a campus food court manager who wouldn’t let him buy macaroni and cheese with bacon and jalapeno peppers, the Associated Press reports. Police and the manager said Gatti had been refused service for carrying an open alcohol container. Macaroni and cheese with bacon? OK. Macaroni and cheese with jalapeno peppers? Don’t think so.

And now you know.
