Pay for members of the Bladenboro Police Department is back on the agenda for February’s regularly scheduled meeting of the Bladenboro Board of Commissioners. The meeting is set for Monday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall on Ivey Street. It’s open to the public.

The issue was tabled at January’s meeting after discussion. Town Manager John O’Daniel told the board at January’s meeting that police department salaries in Bladenboro are similar to those of towns about the same size, but that starting pay is lower than some towns that Bladenboro competes against for officers.

Commissioner Cris Harrelson requested in January that information about the cost of officer training and department turnover in recent years be available for February’s meeting.

** Approval for LKC Engineering to move forward with closing CDBG N.C. Catalyst Grant.

** Administer oath of office to re-appointed Housing Board member Margie Bridger.

** Consideration of 2015 tax lien advertising on March 29, 2016.

** Bids for operation of concession stands at Wateree and McLean parks.

** Consideration of bids on paving E. Railroad Street and/or Harmony Homes Drive.
