Three Things to KnowGood morning! 3 things to know for Tuesday, September 1

1. August ended, appropriately enough, with an early morning rain shower. There was 1.31 inches of rain measured in Bladen Online’s rain gauge for the day. That brought August’s total to 9.66 inches, which is the most in a month since Bladen Online joined the national Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network in April 2014.

2. A storytelling program with Lynda Johnson is planned Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown. It’s free and family oriented. The program is part of the “100 County Journey,” a project of the N.C. Storytelling Guild to have a professional storyteller perform in every county.

3. If you’ve planned a trip this Labor Day weekend, you’ll be happy to know the N.C. Department of Transportation will put on hold most construction projects along interstate, N.C. and U.S. routes from 4 p.m., Friday until 9 a.m. Tuesday with a few exceptions statewide.

And now you know.
