Saturday the weather was perfect for the annual Spring Fest in Kelly, North Carolina.

The parade started at 11 am with floats, Fire Trucks and more. Everyone gathered at the Kelly baseball field to shop with vendors, enjoy good food, play games and enjoy the company of friends and neighbors.

Kenny Thornton, Kelly’s Fire Chief, presented Bladen County Sheriff, Jim McVicker with a festival t-shirt and thanked him for joining the festivities.

McVicker said, “It is a honor to be here and serve this community.”

Thornton then presented awards for the parade winners. Natemore Baptist Church received a plaque for first place and Centerville Baptist Church received a second place plaque.

The crowd enjoyed live entertainment and music from a DJ. The local fire department had a house set up to train children about fire safety.

Kelly Historical Society was also on site with the vendors. A raffle was drawn. Bouncy houses, corn hole tournaments and cake walks were also crowd pleasers.
