Southeastern Medial CenterSoutheastern Wound Healing Center (SWHC), an affiliate of Southeastern Health which is managed by Healogics, announces the appointment of Karl J. Moo Young, D.O., as medical director. He was previously associated with Southeastern Medical Clinic St. Pauls and, most recently, Southeastern Medical Clinic Gray’s Creek.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Moo Young earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio in 1989 and completed an internal medicine residency at Saint Thomas Medical Center in Akron, Ohio in 1993. He is certified by the Osteopathic National Board and the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Dr. Moo Young has served as a panel physician with SWHC since 2009. He, along with Drs. Andrea Simmons, Joe Roberts, James McLeod, Matt Thompson and Obiefuna Okoye, use advanced therapies to treat patients suffering from chronic wounds. The center offers comprehensive wound care and leading-edge treatments including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.

SWHC, which is located at 103 W. 27th Street, Lumberton, is now open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  To schedule an appointment or for more information, call (910) 738-3836. No referral is required.
