Thoughts While Shaving

Guess it is an age thing, but have many friends suffering from various ailments, some serious.  Ahh, we all have aches and pains but if we are upright/mobile, we are fortunate.  Thank God for good health.

Who could imagine a few years ago that we would be purchasing many of our Christmas items using the Internet.  For many, Amazon is their favorite shopping center.

Don’t know about you, but I purchase nothing in a box, unless and until I am convinced it has been assembled.  Actually, I prefer to shop locally.

Still hear folks singing the praises or condemning newly elected officials.  The winners are in charge ’til the next election.  Let’s support them, to do less, harms us all.  Four years from now, we will have another opportunity.

Numerous local churches are preparing for Christmas Cantatas.  Many hours of hard work go into each.  Maybe you visit several locations, some do.  Let me add Wesley’s Chapel UMC, Peanut Plant Road, Elizabethtown, to your list of possibilities.  BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS will be presented Sunday, December 18th at 6 PM and all are welcomed.  Check the BladenOnline CHURCH Page for more.

We had a good rain in our area, a total of about 2 inches at the Hester household over the past couple of days.

BladenOnline scored big over the Thanksgiving Holiday, when compared with last year.  We had 99,200 Pages Viewed and 18,857 Visits last week.  A year ago our numbers were 95,411 Pages Viewed and 15,857 Visits.  We are proud of our continued growth.

The BladenOnline crew also scored big on an experimental football broadcast last Friday. Our staff provided audio of the East Bladen-West Columbus ballgame.  We had 744 check-in to our Facebook site for the broadcast and another 460 for a test video of the same game on Saturday morning.  Maybe next year, that will be a possibility.  We shall see.

I am so impressed with locals who are willing to experiment with new ideas using our site to offer additional services to the area.  I love BladenOnline, yes, I am prejudice when it comes to a local news source.

The holiday season: a deeply religious time that each of us observes, in his/her own way, by going to the mall of our choice.    Dave Berry

Spotted outside a church in Michigan:  “Honk if you love Jesus.  Keep on texting while you drive if you want to meet him.”
