Thoughts While ShavingWoke up this morning with music on my mind.  For the senior citizens amongst us, how about this, “Cruising Down the River on a Sunday Afternoon”  #1 song on the Billboard magazine on February 18, 1949.  Russ Morgan was the artist and the words and music were by Eily Beadell and Nell Tollerton, two middle age women who penned the song in 1945.  The flip side of the record was also a hit, “Sunflower” reached #10 on the chart.

Several other artists released it over the years, including Connie Francis on her 1959 “My Thanks to You” album.

If the election were held today, who would you cast your ballot for, for President, Governor…how about Bladen County Commissioner?  Too soon to get to “worked up” about the election, but need to give it some thought.  I have no suggestions for others, but I will vote.

I appreciate every person who offers themselves as a candidate.  Campaigning is not an easy task.  Must be open to criticism, opposition and much more.

Have used this in the past, still true.  The cheapest way to have your family tree traced is to run for public office.

The highest form of flattery can be someone doing something similar to what you are doing, (maybe not always), but discovered a new adventure by my favorite grandson, my only grandson.  Brooks Hester is doing his version of ‘Thoughts While Shaving’ on an Internet site, based in Raleigh.

Over the past few years, seems every month financial analyst debate the issue of the Federal Reserve Board raising or not raising interest rates.  The financial world appears to be at a standstill, waiting the latest thoughts of Board Chair Janet Yellen who is scheduled to speak Friday at Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

I used to be a banker, but lost interest.

A bank manager without anyone around may find themself a-loan.

Two banks with different rates have a conflict of interest.
