Two boaters who were reported missing were found safe at White Lake.
According to reports the boaters who were reportedly fishing on the Cape Fear River decided to attend the White Lake Water Festival and neglected to inform their families of the change in plans.
According to reports fire crews spent Saturday evening searching the Cape Fear River from the Old Wilmington Boat Launch to the Bladen County line.
Investigators were able to check cell phone records and learned the cell phones had last pinged in the vicinity of White Lake.
According to News Channel 11 the search began when the mother of one of the missing boaters received a call at 6 p.m. saying the boat he was in was sinking. She called 911 to report the incident and fire crews from Cumberland County spent two hours searching the river. According to authorities, the boy did not tell his mother where he was.
