Now wheel chair bound due to sudden paralyzation of his lower extremities, Fennell Yates has returned home after more than a three-month stay between the hospital and rehabilitation centers.
Yates returns home to a much different life than what he was accustomed to. His home as well as other necessities has to be modified to adjust to this handicap.
An organizer of WE WALK FOR FENNELL has scheduled a walk-a-thon fundraiser for Saturday, July 25, 2015 from 8:00 am-10:00 am at Whiteville High School Soccer Field off Legion Drive. Walkers are asked to register with $10.00. All proceeds will go directly to Fennell.
Yates is a graduate of Whiteville High School class of 1997. He is a former employee of Columbus County Schools. He is the son of Barbara Singletary Yates. They attend Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
