A wreck at the intersection of Britt Road and US 701 South, reduced the busy highway to just one lane for a time on Friday morning.

The collision occurred when a white Chrysler 200 traveling on Britt Road pulled into the path of a dark colored Honda Passport traveling southbound on US 701, according to NC Highway Patrol Trooper Freeman.

Trooper Freeman said the driver of the Chrysler failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign.

Trooper Freeman said there were two female occupants in the Honda Passport and their identities were not immediately available as they were transported by Bladen County EMS to the hospital. Freeman said they suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The driver of the Chrysler was charged with failure to yield the right of way, said Freeman.

The Elizabethtown, Bladenboro and Clarkton fire departments and Bladen County EMS, all responded to the crash.
