BCCADThe Small Business Center (SBC) of Bladen Community College is offering many great no-cost seminars to celebrate Small Business Month in May.

Financials 101 is scheduled for Monday May 2nd from 2 until 3 p.m. This workshop will guide you through the fundamentals of budgeting, depreciation, financial statement set up, capitalizing expenditures, payables/receivables, profit/loss and more. The class meets on the BCC main campus in building 2, room 202.

On Wednesday May 4th at the same time and location, Intro to Fundraising Planning will provide you with the basic steps for developing a fundraising plan.

At the Bladenboro Community Building, Mike Collins will present The Best Business to Start Now on Thursday May 5th from 6:30 until 9 p.m.

Your Business Brand Online and in the Community will be offered on Tuesday May 10th at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown at 2:30 p.m. The presenter will discuss branding, what it means, and how to create an effective brand for your business. On the East Arcadia Campus, a fun, interactive seminar about Event Planning for Small Businesses/Non-Profits is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m.

Small business owners will be interested in Increase Your Credit Score for a Business Loan on Thursday May 19th from 6:30 until 9 p.m., on the main campus in building 2, Room 207. In the same location, Google Tools for Starting a Business is a hands-on lab that covers the variety of tools and apps offered by Google to set up a website, phone system, email, customer relations management system, team management, online reputation management, video chat, and document storage. This class is scheduled for Saturday, May 21st from 9 a.m. until noon.

The Small Business Center will finish the month with two additional workshops.  A hands-on lab seminar, Get Your Business Listing on Google, is scheduled for Monday May 23th from 2 until 3 p.m. in building 2, room 207 on the main campus. The Bladen County Public Library is hosting Get Your Business Online where participants will learn about selecting and registering your domain name, software tools for website creation, site design tips, and optimization methods to improve ranking in Google. This class is Tuesday May 24th from 6 until 8 p.m.

All seminars are open to the public and provided at no charge due to special funding arrangements for the Small Business Center and Bladen Community College.
