Bladen-County-SealBladen County Commissioners will meet in regular session Monday.
One of the first items of business on the agenda is a rezoning request to change the zoning on property located on US Highway 701 N. just past Merritt’s Pottery.  The request is to rezone property from Residential Agriculture (RA) to Commercial (C).  The Planning Board voted to approve the request to accommodate a new Dollar General store.
Commissioners will recognize Warren Holder who is retiring from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office effective August 1, 2015.
The Board will receive a Sales Tax Legislation Update. and consider adopting a Resolution in Support of the Revised House Bill 117, Sales Tax Fairness Act.
Phil Geary, NC Transportation Engineer, will update the board on Bladen County’s Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP).  The CTP includes a long range plan (25-30 years).  A Bladen County Steering Committee consist of 14 local residents and 3 NCDOT Division 6 Engineers.
Cris Harrelson will present a County Health Report Update and provide an overview of the Young Families Connect Program.
The board will consider approving a reclassification of a vacant EMT-Intermediate position to a EMT-Paramedic position.
A voting delegate will be named for the upcoming NCACC Annual Conference August 20-23 in Greenville, NC.
The board will hold a closed session to discuss personnel.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Bladen County Courthouse and is open to the public.
