ROAD OPENINGS:
SR 1316 – Tar Heel Ferry Road
It looks like the new bridge over the Cape Fear River at Tar Heel will open mid-week next.
NC 242/410
In Bladenboro, we will temporarily be opening NC 242/410 FROM THE SOUTH END OF TOWN UP TO NC 131 ONLY over the weekend. This will allow access to the event at the Historical Society Building as well as allow Kelly Street, Forest Drive, Back Street, and the Bladenboro Middle School driveways to have access to Main Street. The signed detour will remain in effect and all thru traffic should continue to follow the detour as no access will be allowed to Main Street between NC 131 and the railroad tracks.
EXISTING ROAD CLOSURES
NC 131 (Main Street) in Bladenboro
Much progress was made on Main Street in Bladenboro this week; however, it will remain closed between the NC 131/242/410 intersection on the south side of town up to the railroad tracks. If the weather holds out, work will be completed late next week.
NC 211 East of Clarkton
Work has begun on the bridge rehabilitation work for the Brown Marsh bridges located east of Clarkton. This work will continue into September.
UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURES
NC 210 east of US 701
Beginning Monday Morning (August 3) we plan to close NC 210 approximately 0.13 miles east of US 701 in order to replace a leaking cross line. On Wednesday, we plan to move farther down NC 210 and replace two large pipes located 0.2 miles northwest of SR 1529. The large pipes will require several days for completion. A signed detour will be in effect to use US 701 and NC 41.
