NC DOTOPENINGS:

SR 1136 (White-McEwan Road)
The work on SR 1136 (White-McEwan Road) at the CSX railroad is complete and the road is open (expect crossing arms to be installed there in the near future)

UPCOMING CLOSINGS:

SR 1166 (Page Road)
Beginning Monday, June 1 we plan to close SR 1166 (Page Road) just south of the SR 1168 (Bridgers Road) intersection in order to install a new crossline. This new line will add additional capacity that should reduce the frequency of flooding at this intersection. Access to Bridgers Road will be from the Clarkton end of Page Road only. There will not be a signed detour in effect. Plan to use SR 1167 (Lanier Road) to US 701 in Columbus County to Tart Road (SR 1190) for access around the work area (NOTE: Tart Road is stone as is the Columbus County end of Lanier Road)

SR 1167 (Lanier Road)
Once the pipe work is complete on SR 1166, we plan to move over to SR 1167 and replace an undersized pipe located approximately 0.17 miles from SR 1166 (Page Road). This work will likely begin Wednesday afternoon and be completed on Thursday of next week.

NC 87 at the ‘Dupont’ Railroad Crossing
Beginning Friday, June 5 work will begin to raise the railroad crossing on NC 87 near the Cumberland County line. The southbound direction will be closed Friday through Monday with re-open planned late Monday afternoon. A signed detour will be in effect to use SR 2257 (County Line Road – Cumberland) to SR 2252 / SR 1300 (Chickenfoot Road) to NC 20. This will impact southbound traffic only for the weekend of June 5-8. The northbound direction will be addressed the following weekend (June 12-15) with separate detours for northbound and southbound traffic to follow.
