HARTSVILLE, SC – West Bladen grad Clint Allen smacked 3 hits Saturday as his Coker Cobras defeated Wingate 8-1 in the first game of a South Atlantic Conference double-header.
Allen singled to lead off the Coker third inning, advanced on a bunt and raced home on Thomas Lopez’ single to pad the Cobra lead to 2-0. The senior leftfielder ripped a single through the middle to drive in a run in the Cobras’ 3-run sixth inning.
Allen laced a single to left-centerfield in the eighth inning. The Bladenboro native finished 3-4 at the plate with a run batted in and a run scored.
The Cobras are now 8-7 in league play and 16-11 overall. Coker will travel to Claflin, SC Wednesday for a 3 p.m. double-header.
