Congressman Robert Pittenger HeadshotCHARLOTTE – Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09), Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare and Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee Task Force to Investigate Terrorism Financing, issued this statement following the deadly ISIS attack on a church in Saint-Etienne-du Rouvray, France:

“The dastardly attack on a quiet church in Normandy, including the murder of an 86-year-old priest and the taking of four hostages, all claimed and praised by ISIS, must be clearly understood by President Obama as an act of war by radical Islamic terrorists.  President Obama seems to hope this evil will simply disappear with good words or another apology, even though our adversaries have by action declared war on America and the civilized world.  The blinders must come off and we must address our adversary with a war mentality.”

Last month, Congressman Pittenger organized and co-hosted a major security forum in Vienna, where more than 80 Members of Parliament and other officials from 29 nations discussed specific opportunities for joint action to intercept terrorism financing and enable critical data sharing to help Intelligence agencies better work together in the fight against radical Islamic terrorism.   To learn more about the forum, click here:  http://bit.ly/2a9kKCu.
