Nakina edged Bladen County 7-6 Sunday in the District 2 Coach-Pitch (Class AA) Supplemental Tournament at Tabor City.
“The kids played well,” said Bladen County Coach James Shipman. “Brianna Wuergler and Isaiah Lee were the leading scorers for us with Hunter Simmons following.”
The loss eliminated Bladen County from the tournament. Bladen County had suffered a loss to Columbus County in Saturday’s first-round game. “Everybody on the team hit the ball,” said Coach Shipman. “We just had too many errors.”
