DUNN – Midway scored 28 points in the second quarter en route to a 42-20 Four County Conference football victory Friday night over West Bladen.

The Raiders scored first as senior fullback Jake Clark rambled 7 yards for the touchdown, and Austin Raynor booted the first of 6 extra points for a 7-0 lead.

West Bladen answered early in the second period as junior quarterback Scott Bowen threw a 26 yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Trent West. Bowen kicked the extra point to tie the game 7-7.

Clark scored his second touchdown of the game on a 5 yard run, and Raynor tacked on the point for a 14-7 Midway lead. Raynor hurled a 29-yard touchdown pass to senior Dashawn Tonge that pushed the lead to 21-7 after Raynor’s extra point.

Junior Sha’king Warren darted 2 yards for another Raider touchdown, and Tonge ran 13 yards to paydirt as the lead grew to 35-7 at halftime.

Sophmore Anthony McCoy dashed 4 yards for the final Midway touchdown in the third quarter.

Senior James Moore bolted 55 yards for a West Bladen touchdown in the fourth quarter, and Bowen tacked on another extra point that sliced the margin to 42-14.

Junior B. J. Drake knocked the ball loose from a Midway runner then scooped up the fumble and raced 30 yards for the game’s final touchdown.

Moore led the Knight offense with 12 carries for 76 rushing yards. Drake rushed 16 times for 68 yards, Zion Barrett added 18 yards on 4 carries.

Bowen connected on 7 of 14 passes for 65 yards and the touchdown. West snagged 2 passes for 32 yards and a touchdown, and senior Jonathan Ashworth caught 3 passes for 29 yards. Senior Kassan Page had one reception for 8 yards.

West Bladen will host rival East Bladen Friday night at 7 p.m.
