SeHealth Gala Bell and Ryan (2)The smallest patients at Southeastern Regional Medical Center will be in the spotlight and will benefit from the funds raised at the Southeastern Health Foundation’s 24th annual gala, “Le Cirque de Rouge.” The black-tie event, which is set for Friday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Southeastern Agricultural Center in Lumberton, will raise funds to help support the expanded neonatal intensive care unit at SRMC, which is the hub of SeHealth.

“As part of the medical community, we need the extended service of providing neonatology services for our smallest patients,” said co-chair Vicki Bell.  “The funds will serve to provide medical equipment to upgrade neonatal care at the intensive care level.”

More than 50 gala committee members have been busy planning for the annual fundraiser, including constructing theme-related decorations to accompany the floral designs that will be created by Billy Davis of Flowers by Billy.  The event will also include a silent auction of local artwork and a jewelry raffle, donated by Greg Phelps of Bob’s Jewel Shop.

“Le Cirque de Rouge is a Parisian vintage circus theme and the gala decorations will include a broad array of colors,” said co-chair Glenda Ryan. “The Fantasy Band will provide a great evening for dancing, great food will be provided by Thyme Savor Catering (of Wilmington) and a few other surprises will occur during the evening.”

Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Bell and Dr. and Mrs. Scott Ryan were selected to serve as chairpersons for the 2016 gala. Both couples have served on the gala committee for several years, and are excited about co-chairing this event that will benefit neonatal pediatric patients with the addition of services at SRMC.
