Elizabethtown native Jazmine Kemp dropped in a trio of second-half lay-ups, but her UNC-Pembroke Lady Braves came up short at Georgia Southwestern on Saturday by a 67-64 margin.
Kemp finished with 8 points, 6 rebounds and one assist.
The 5-10 senior pumped in a first half jump shot, then drove for a couple of lay-ups early in the second half as the Lady Braves fought back from a 47-34 deficit.
Kemp put back an offensive rebound with 50 seconds left to play that trimmed the Lady Hurricane lead to 64-61, before the winners’ Danisha Green made 3 of 4 free throws in the closing seconds to salt away the win.
The Lady Braves are back in action Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Augusta, GA against GRU-Augusta.
