East Bladen High SchoolELIZABETHTOWN – Sophomore Spencer Scott pitched a 2-hitter Monday night to lead East Bladen to a 7-1 victory over Clinton Monday night in Four County Conference jayvee baseball action.

The Eagles took control early scoring 5 first-inning runs after 2 were out. Sophomore Dan Tatum cracked a single and stole second and third bases, while Scott drew a walk. Tatum darted home on a passed ball.

Sophomore Pierce Melvin slammed a double that scored Scott. Josh McKoy laced a single that plated Melvin. Sophomore Eric Chancy was hit by a pitch. After Josh McKoy and Chancy both stole a base, an error on Xavier McKoy’s grounder scored both runners.

The Dark Horses plated their lone run in the third inning, but the Eagles answered with 2 runs in the fifth. Freshman Jordan Robinson walked, stole second base and raced home when Tatum hammered a double. Tatum dashed home on a passed ball with the final East Bladen run.

Tatum batted a perfect 3-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and a run batted in to lead the East offense. Josh McKoy finished 2-3 at the plate with a double, an rbi and a run scored. Melvin laced the rbi double and scored a run. Robinson, Scott and Chancy scored one run each.

The Eagle jayvees improve to 4-1 in league play and 6-2 overall. East Bladen will host Union Tuesday at 4 p.m.
