DUBLIN – Junior Bryan Haro’s sacrifice drove in the winning run in the bottom of the fifth inning as West Bladen edged St. Pauls 5-4 in non-conference jayvee baseball action.
Sophmore Brandon Strange started and worked the first 3 innings on the mound for the Knights, and freshman Colby White relieved and pitched 2 scoreless innings to pick up the win for West Bladen.
Sophmores Dalton Pait and Jeremy Pait both batted 2-3 to lead the Knight hitters. White, and freshmen Dawson Bryan and Nolan Bryant cracked one hit each for the winners.
“This is a talented and resilient group,” said Knight Coach Todd Pait. “They made some mistakes but never backed down when the game was on the line.”
West Bladen improved to 3-0 with the victory and will host South Robeson Wednesday at 4 p.m.
