CERRO GORDO – Indiyah Williams slammed a double and a triple to lead West Bladen to a 20-5 non-conference jayvee softball victory Saturday over West Columbus.

The Lady Knights jumped in front with 5 runs in the first inning. Freshman Kasee Singletary, pitcher Brittany Landreth, Erica Storms and Caroline Hester drew walks, Jordan Benson beat out a bunt single, and Elizabeth Allbright and Ivanay Louis belted singles. Singletary, Landreth, Allbright, Storms and Benson scored the runs.

The winners stretched their lead to 9-0 in the second. Sophmore Erica McKoy, Landreth and Allbright cracked singles, and Williams pounded a double. All four of them scored.

The Lady Vikings trimmed the lead to 9-3, but West Bladen exploded for 11 runs in the third. Williams singled then hammered a triple to cap the inning. Singletary, McKoy, Landreth and Storms smacked singles, and Louis slammed a double. All of them scored in the inning.

McKoy, Landreth, Allbright and Benson all walked and scored in the inning.

Williams batted 3-4 with a double, triple and 2 runs scored. McKoy and Landreth both finished 2-2 at the plate. Allbright and Louis were both 2-3. Singletary, Storms and Benson added one hit each.

Landreth scored 4 runs. Singletary, McKoy and Allbright scored 3 runs each. Storms and Benson scored 2 runs each, and Louis scored a run.

Landreth pitched into the second inning, and Storms relieved her in the second and finished up in the circle.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knight jayvees evened their record at 1-1 on the season. West Bladen will visit South Columbus Monday at 4 p.m.
