West Bladen High School LogoDUNN – West Bladen scored 2 fifth-inning runs to snap a 4-4 tie and claim a 6-4 Four County Conference jayvee softball victory over Midway Tuesday.

Winning pitcher Brittany Landreth smacked a one-out single to start the Lady Knight fifth inning and advanced on an infield out. Indiyah Williams knocked in Landreth with a single to centerfield.

Ivanay Louis followed with a single to centerfield, and Jordan Benson reached base on an error as Williams scored.

Freshman Kasee Singletary batted 2-3 and scored 2 runs to lead the West Bladen hitters. Landreth also turned in a 2-3 game at the plate, scored a run and drove in a run. Williams singled scored twice and drove in a run. Louis singled and scored a run.

Singletary led off the game with a single and scored the first Lady Knight run. Williams and Louis drew walks and scored runs in the second inning as the West lead grew to 3-0.

Singletary began the West Bladen third inning with a single, moved up on an infield out and raced home when Landreth delivered a single.

Midway rallied with 4 runs in the fourth inning to tie the game.

Landreth pitched 4.2 innings to pick up the win, allowing the 4 runs on 5 hits and 5 walks.

Coach Joe Lewis’ Lady Knights evened their league record at 1-1 and 3-3 overall.
