Bladenboro middle schoolLainey Autry fired in a pair of second half goals that lifted Bladenboro to a 4-2 Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer victory over Tar Heel at County Park.

Autry had started the game as the Lady Bulldogs goalkeeper but moved out of the goal with a few minutes left to play to score the two goals that broke a 2-2 tie.

Tar Heel’s team captain, Josefina Toboada Torres, gave the Lady Panthers an early 1-0 lead with her first goal of the game. Savannah Turbeville knocked in the goal for Bladenboro that tied the score 1-1.

Ocean Woody propelled the Lady Bulldogs into a 2-1 lead with a goal. Toboada Torres blasted in a penalty kick to tie the game 2-2 at halftime.

Tar Heel Coach Chris Wagoner noted that “Shelby Pharr played a solid game as goalkeeper.”

Bladenboro is now 1-1 in Bladen Five action.
