BasketballJatyra Moore-Peterson and Natalie Gainey combined for 26 points to lead the undefeated Elizabethtown Lady Cougars to a 30-23 Bladen Five Middle School Conference victory at Bladenboro Thursday.

Moore-Peterson fired in a game-high 14 points for the winners, and Gainey was right behind her with 12 points.

The Lady Cougars took a 6-2 first period lead and increased their lead to 14-6 at halftime. Elizabethtown led 20-12 after 3 periods.

Kendall Lambeth bombed in a trio of 3-point shots and topped the Bladenboro scoring with 13 points. Teammates Callie Lewis and Cassie Singletary added 4 points each for the Lady Bulldogs.

Elizabethtown remains on top of the Bladen Five with a 3-0 record. Bladenboro is now 1-2 in league play.
