Kenia Medina accounted for 4 goals Tuesday night as Elizabethtown opened their Bladen Five Middle School Conference girls soccer season with a 5-0 victory over Bladenboro at County Park.
Medina put the Lady Cougars on the board early with a goal in the first 30 seconds. Medina would put 2 more shots into the net, and Katlynn Tatum fired in the other Elizabethtown goal.
The final goal came when Medina blasted a long shot that deflected off of a Bladenboro defender and into the net.
“I thought we played very well for the limited practice time we had,” said Elizabethtown Coach Tripp Lancaster. “Carlie West did a great job anchoring the defense and Abigail Madden played well in the goal. Very proud of the girls, they had fun, and that was our mission coming into the game.”
