Jake Evans posted a ‘Hat Trick’ by firing in 3 goals Tuesday night to lead his Clarkton School of Discovery Blue Devils to a 5-1 Bladen Five Middle School Conference soccer victory over Bladenboro at County Park.

Jay McGill opened the scoring for the Blue Devils with the only goal that was recorded in the first half.

Evans then started his assault on the Bulldog defense with a goal only 7:30 into the second half that stretched the Clarkton lead to 2-0.

A minute later the Bulldog defense inadvertently scored an own goal that upped the margin to 3-0.

At the 15-minute mark of the second half, Evans fired in his second goal of the game for a 4-0 CSD lead. Eight minutes later Evens turned a Gabe Barber assist into his third goal of the game.

Bladenboro’s goal came at the 28-minute mark of the second half when Carlos Hernandez knocked in the goal that put the Bulldogs on the scoreboard.

Clarkton improved to 3-1 with the victory, while Bladenboro is now 2-3. The teams will be idle for the remainder of Thanksgiving Week.
