Elizabethtown Middle SchoolTAR HEEL -Kayleigh Raynor pitched a 3-inning perfect game and struck out 7 of 9 batters to lead Elizabethtown to an 18-0 Bladen Five Middle  School Conference softball victory over Tar Heel. The game was stopped by the mercy rule.

The Lady Cougars sent 16 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored 13 runs. Shanell McMillian was hit by pitches twice in the inning and scored both times. Cheylee Mathis cracked a single to rightfield and scored twice in the inning.

Raynor was hit by a pitch and also scored 2 runs in the inning. Alyssa Suggs walked and scored a run. Carlie West walked twice and scored both times. Trinity Stephens was hit a pitch and scored a run, and Aaliyah Gregg and Chasity Carter scored one run each.

Abigail Madden blasted a 3-run home run to left-centerfield to highlight the 13-run first.

Stephens and Carter drew walks to start the Lady Cougar second inning. McMillian reached base before Madden belted a 2-run single to rightfield. After Mathis was hit by a pitch, Raynor crushed a 2-run home run to deep leftfield to cap the 5-run inning.

Coach Tarrah Woodruff’s Lady Cougars remained unbeaten at 3-0 with the victory.
