Good morning! 3 things to know for Monday, October 26

1. The Bladen County Board of Commissioners have scheduled two special meetings today. The first is 5 p.m. about a personnel issue. The second is at 7 p.m. about a budget worksho regarding Emergency Medical Services. The meetings will be held in the Commissioners Room on the lower level of the courthouse in Elizabethtown.

2. A reminder that one-stop voting — or early voting — continues through Saturday at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown for municipal elections in Bladenboro, Clarkton, Elizabethtown and White Lake. Hours are 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Friday, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Election day is Tuesday, Nov. 3 for all seven Bladen municipalities, including Dublin, East Arcadia and Tar Heel.

3. Gov. Pat McCrory and First Lady Ann McCrory lit the Executive Mansion in Raleigh and the Governor’s Western Residence in Asheville purple Sunday night to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer and its prevalence in the state. The State Capitol grounds also was lit in purple Sunday night for a Purple Light ceremony held by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

And now you know.
