Good morning! 3 things to know for Thursday, October 29

1. It’s another county high school rivalry matchup today. It will be East Bladen at West Bladen in boys’ soccer. Match kicks off at 6 p.m. It’s the final regular season game for both teams. East won an earlier meeting 5-1. East Bladen defeated West Bladen in both volleyball games this season. West Bladen won both girls’ tennis matches. The varsity football teams are scheduled to play Nov. 6 at East.

2. The Clarkton Lions Club is sponsoring a 5k Fun Walk for Diabetes Awareness on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. until noon beginning from the parking lot next to First Baptist Church of Clarkton. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. No entry fee. Prizes will be offered for oldest walker and youngest walker. For information, call Keith Croom at 647-5391.

3. Indiana Jones found his Temple of Doom recently. Indiana Z. Jones, that is. Authorities say 21-year-old Indiana Z. Jones led police on a chase that topped 100 mph on a road in New York’s Finger Lakes region, The Associated Press reported. The chase began when Indiana tried to evade a traffic stop. Spike strips were used to puncture Jones’ tires. He was arrested and was released on bail.
