A poultry truck overturned in a curve on River Road near White Oak in Friday afternoon resulting in the temporary closure of the road. The road was shut down between Burney Road and Tar Heel Ferry Road.

According to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Sellers, the driver David Cox of Faison, was driving south on River Road when he entered the curve and the trucked overturned into a ditch.

The truck is owned by Nash Johnson and Sons Farms Inc. of Rose Hill. Company representatives are on the scene assisting officials with the clean up of the crash.

Trooper Sellers said Cox was transported to Bladen County Hospital with minor injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
