The family and friends of the late Mike Merritt excelled again this year in their drive to raise funds for the Mike W. Merritt Endowed Scholarship, a scholarship managed by the Bladen Community College Foundation and presented to students attending the college. The group raises funds for the scholarship with an annual motorcycle (and car) ride. This year the group raised $7,500, which they presented to BCC President William Findt and Foundation Director Linda Burney at a special presentation on Sunday at the White Lake Fire Department.
