BURGAW – Pender slugged 3 home runs and defeated East Bladen 17-0 Friday night in Four County Conference softball action.
Senior Gracie Vincent, sophmore Alana Buie and freshman pitcher Lauren Gammons all homered for the Lady Patriots.
Freshman Izzy Smith connected for the first Lady Eagle hit in the second inning. Sophmore Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson and freshman Abby Cross belted singles, and senior Emily Scott was hit by a pitch in the East Bladen third inning, but the Lady Eagles left the bases loaded.
Smith, Moore-Peterson and Cross finished with one hit each for East Bladen.
The Lady Eagles, now 1-3, will host Heide Trask Tuesday at 6 p.m.
