West Bladen High School LogoBURGAW – Sophia Singletary pitched a 4-hitter, and Alanna Ludlum and Carley Dawson slugged home runs as West Bladen’s Lady Knights rolled past Pender 12-1 in Four County Conference softball action.

Singletary raised her pitching record to 6-1, walked 2 and allowed the one run.

The Lady Knights jumped in front with a 3-run first inning. Senior Kassidy Anderson led off the game with a single, and 2 outs later senior Laikyn Pait knocked in Anderson with a single.

Pait stole second base and raced home when Dawson smacked a single. Dawson stole second, and after Singletary drew a walk, sophmore Conner Brisson delivered a single that scored Dawson.

Senior Jenna Dove reached base on an error to begin the West second inning. Anderson belted a single, and a throwing error on senior Logan Autry’s sacrifice bunt scored Dove, Anderson and Autry.

Pait swatted a single and stole second base.Dawson cracked a single that scored Pait, and Brisson laced a single that scored Dawson and pushed the Lady Knight lead to 8-0.

Dove reached base on an error to start the Lady Knight third inning. Anderson followed with a single, before Ludlum walloped her 3-run home run that plated Dove and Anderson. One out later Dawson blasted a home run for a 12-0 West Bladen lead.

Dawson batted a perfect 3-3 with the home run, 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored. Anderson finished 3-4 at the plate with 3 runs scored. Pait was 2-3 with an rbi and 2 runs scored.

Brisson batted 2-3 with 2 rbi’s. Ludlum clubbed the 3-run home run, and Autry scored a run.

“The girls played great tonight,” said West Bladen Coach Joey Autry. The Lady Knights improved to 3-0 in conference play and 6-1 overall. West Bladen will host Village Christian Thursday at 6:30.
