DUBLIN – West Bladen exploded for 19 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 19-3 mercy rule victory over Village Christian Thursday night in non-conference softball action.

The Lady Knights sent 24 batters to the plate in the first inning and pounded out 16 hits. Senior Logan Autry walked, stole second base and dashed home when senior Alanna Ludlum cracked a single. Senior Laikyn Pait knocked in Ludlum with a single.

Sophmore Carley Dawson belted a single that scored Pait, and pitcher Madison Collins smacked a single that plated Carley Dawson. Sophmore Conner Brisson connected for a single, and senior Jenna Dove drove in Alise Pait, the courtesy runner for Collins, with a single.

Junior Abby Dawson loaded the bases with a single, and senior Kassidy Anderson delivered a single that plated Brisson and Dove. Senior Logan Autry singled to load the bases, and Ludlum laced a single that scored Abby Dawson.

Pait slammed a double that drove in Anderson and Autry. Carley Dawson swatted a single that scored Ludlum. Collins hammered a double, and Brisson rapped a single that drove in a run.

Dove walked, and Abby Dawson knocked in a run with a single. Anderson ripped a 2-run single, and Autry drove in a run with a single. Ludlum reached base on an error, and Pait plated another run with a single.

Pait batted a perfect 3-3 with a double, 4 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Autry finished with a perfect 2-2 game, drove in a run and scored 3 runs. Brisson was also 2-2 with 2 runs scored and an rbi.

Anderson batted 2-3 with a double, 4 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Ludlum finished 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Carley Dawson was also 2-3 with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Collins batted 2-3 with a double, an rbi and 2 runs scored. Abby Dawson also finished 2-3 at the plate with an rbi and 2 runs scored. Dove singled, scored 2 runs and drove in a run.

Village scored 3 unearned runs in the second inning on 2 hits, 2 walks and an error. Collins pitched the 3-inning victory, struck out 3 and allowed 5 hits and 2 walks.

Coach Joey Autry’s Lady Knights improved to 7-1 and will host Clinton Friday at 6 p.m.
